Czech & Slovak Heritage Groups

Group trips for Czech and Slovak heritage organizations

Sokol chapters, Czech and Slovak fraternal societies, heritage clubs and parishes keep traditions alive across the US. We plan group cruises from US ports and heritage tours to the Czech Republic for them, with a Czech-speaking planner on our team.

What gets in the way

The hard parts, handled

Members span generations

Grandparents who grew up with Czech at home travel with grandchildren who are visiting for the first time. The trip has to work for both.

Members live far apart

Heritage groups often draw from a whole state or region, so departure points and dates matter.

Family research takes preparation

Visiting an ancestral village means knowing where to look before you go.

How we help

Built for czech & slovak heritage groups

  • A Czech-speaking planner who can talk with members in Czech or English
  • A 10-day heritage tour of Prague, Bohemia and Moravia with an ancestral village day
  • Group cruises from drive-to US ports for chapter and society trips
  • Payment plans so members can spread the cost
  • A Czech-language request page members can use: grouptravelfinder.com/cz

Planning timeline

When to do what

  1. 12 to 18 months out

Raise the trip at a chapter or society meeting and gauge interest among members and families.

  2. 10 to 12 months out

Review a proposal for a heritage tour or group cruise and take it to your board.

  3. 8 to 10 months out

Sign, pay initial deposits, and announce the trip in your newsletter in Czech and English.

  4. 3 to 6 months out

For the heritage tour, send us family names and villages so we can prepare the ancestral village day.

What to know

A planner who speaks Czech

Older members are often most comfortable in Czech, younger ones in English. Requests from Czech-speaking groups are handled by a Czech speaker on our team, and members can use the Czech request page at grouptravelfinder.com/cz.

The ancestral village day

On the heritage tour, day 7 is free for visits to family villages. With names, dates and places sent ahead, we point members to the parish registers and regional archives and help arrange drivers and interpreters.

Trips that fit heritage calendars

Many groups plan around festivals, slets, anniversaries or national conventions. We can set up a room block near the event or schedule a cruise or tour around it.

Can the heritage tour be changed?

Yes. We can shift the route toward the regions your members' families came from, or add days.

Can you set up a room block for a festival or convention?

Yes. We find hotels near the venue and set up a block with one booking link for members.
